An image of a death ritual form an indegenous tribe in the book "The man and his symbols" from Carl G.Jung inspired this work. The deceased person, placed on a canoe, recieves food and clothes for his voyage.
During seven months I carved a human spine as the skeleton of a boat to create an image that
would represent death through journey. An archetype present in our way of understanding fate.
The sculpture is also related to the tense situation of Subsaharians crossing the ocean to Europe, where many end their lives at sea.
